Responsibilities include presenting data at weekly lab meetings, participating in the CVRI Trainee RIPS and the CVRI retreat, and publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals in collaboration with the PI. Appointees to the full Specialist rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization.

The candidate should demonstrate expertise in the knowledge and techniques required for cardiovascular phenotyping of pulmonary hypertension in rats and mice. Furthermore, the candidate must have proficiency in a range of biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology techniques. These include single-cell RNA sequencing, bulk RNA sequencing, Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP)-sequencing, ChIP assays, gel retardation assays, RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and the isolation of pulmonary vascular endothelial and smooth muscle cells from rodent models. Additional required skills include conducting vascular endothelial permeability assays, migration and proliferation assays (both in vitro and in vivo), luciferase reporter based transcription assay, and puromycin-based assays. The candidate should be willing and able to learn new techniques required for the projects.
