Job Description

BAVEL   is a Middle Eastern restaurant that bridges together fresh ingredients with slow cooking techniques, incorporating aromatic woods, spices, pickling, smoke, and herbs. We serve different versions of flatbreads and spreads, chef's selection of cured meats, cold and hot small plates highlighting vegetables, with large format meat and fish dishes. Our desserts take flavors and ingredients found in the Middle East and build on their traditions with a touch of modernity.

We are currently looking to fill FOH position as a Full-Time BARBACK.  The ideal candidate is eager to learn and grow with our team.  

SUMMARY OF POSITION:  

Under the direction of all Management, perform assigned responsibilities to ensure the daily running of the restaurant. Support the execution of the beverage program under the guidance of the bartenders. 

RESPONSIBILITY AND SPAN OF AUTHORITY:  

• Responsible to assist in the prep needs of the bar
• Assist in the cleanliness of the bar
• Execute the sequence of service within the service guidelines as set by the company
• Anticipate scenarios which might delay the sequence of service & proactively communicate with management & chefs
• Participate as a team player striving for the best daily
• Run beverages during service
• Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the company’s product. Be capable of speaking to the selection of spirits offered.
• Execute all beverages according to established recipe
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
• Maintain par sheets and prep lists for bar preps
• Observe the bar as a component to the overall success of the restaurant. Be flexible to management & team requests which may require assistance on the dining room floor and other aspects to the restaurant
• Execute daily and weekly side work as associated with the bar

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Team player 
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience preferred, but not required.
• Current Food Handler Permit.

COMPENSATION: $17.28  plus tips, and health insurance for full-time employees after 60 days.
