Lead HRIS Analyst

Overview
We are seeking a Lead HRIS Analyst to support and manage HR Systems, including PeopleSoft HCM, while leading the ERP readiness and migration project to a cloud-based ERP system. This role requires collaboration with other HR systems and generating reports and data analytics using tools like IBM Cognos Analytics and Tableau. The analyst will work within the HRIS department of the Office of Human Resources and play a crucial role in implementing process improvements, system enhancements, and providing production support for the company's HCM systems. This role is key to HR processes such as annual merit increases, data uploads, absence management, and system security, ensuring the integrity and compliance of employee data. Reporting directly to the HRIS Manager, the Lead HRIS Analyst will also be responsible for system maintenance, configuration, testing, and ensuring the seamless integration of HR technologies.
Key Responsibilities
HCM Project and Process Improvement
Develop and implement process improvements, integrate new systems, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align systems with long-term business goals.
Work closely with system users and business owners to prioritize requests and system enhancements, ensuring alignment with the HR product roadmap.
Act as a subject matter expert for PeopleSoft and other HCM systems, ensuring effective and accurate system use.
Lead or participate in projects to streamline HR processes, manage project scope, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
Identify and facilitate process design changes through business and system analysis.
Maintain and update user procedures, documentation, and guidelines while recommending service improvements and innovative solutions.
Stay updated on HR systems trends and participate in user groups, trainings, and webcasts to ensure best practices are followed.
Ensure adherence to project deadlines, standards, and communication protocols.
Analyze current business processes and data across the employee lifecycle, providing recommendations for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
Serve as a liaison between HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, and Treasury teams to ensure smooth system integration.
HCM Production Support, Maintenance, and Operations
Oversee HR processes like the annual merit increase and salary adjustments, and serve as the subject matter expert on PeopleSoft's absence management modules.
Manage system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and configuration of PeopleSoft core setup tables, ensuring accurate testing and implementation.
Lead system testing efforts, ensuring timely resolution of issues and collaboration with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and Finance teams.
Administer security profiles and support data audits for compliance and accuracy.
Training, Documentation, and Reporting
Develop and maintain functional documentation, user guides, and training materials for HRIS users.
Use data analytics to identify trends and generate reports that inform HR decision-making and improve business outcomes.
Provide training and ongoing support to ensure end users have the tools and knowledge needed to leverage HR systems effectively.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in HRIS systems or as a functional HR business analyst. IT experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft HCM, ERP implementations, and system migrations to cloud systems.
Strong knowledge of SDLC for HCM projects, along with project management and relationship-building skills.
Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience in HR functional areas such as compensation and benefits.
Strong understanding of HR practices, reporting needs, data analysis, and auditing.
Ability to analyze business requirements and collaborate with multiple stakeholders effectively.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Proven project management experience with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
BA/BS degree in technology or relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cognos Analytics or Tableau.
Knowledge of cloud product integrations with PeopleSoft.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft security structures.
Experience with Oracle Cloud or Workday ERP.
HR Professional certification is a plus.
Prior experience in a university setting.
