Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Practice Support Specialist Lead primarily oversees, provides leadership, and training for all front-end duties such as reception, call center, referral and authorizations, and other advanced administrative duties such as templates, office purchases, coaching, etc.
The Practice Support Specialist Lead has oversight over his/her junior counterparts. The Practice Support Specialist Lead serves as a resource for the entire department. With the guidance of the Clinic Manager, the Practice Support Specialist Lead initiates and participates in improvement efforts which directly impact the practice.
Minimum of four (4) years previous related experience.
Extensive knowledge of practices, including one (1) year supervisor or lead experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
Understands functions of the referral and authorization department.
Demonstrated ability to articulate physician's areas of expertise.
Proficiency using computer programs to include EPIC, Excel, PowerPoint, Graphs, Word, etc.
Experience working with complex health plan issues and billing issues in healthcare, including processes and collection of fees/copays, authorizations, and financial arrangements related to complex services and procedures.
Proven experience managing and leading others in scheduling and processing complex medical services.
Excellent customer service skills. Experience with complex and sensitive coordination with multiple providers and patients.

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,016 - $78,384 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $30.18 - $37.54
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
