Senior Electrical Estimator
(This is not a remote position.)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for the electrical components of assigned projects. Utilizing ACCUBID software, the estimator will simulate construction processes, evaluate the costs of design choices, and provide accurate, reliable estimates. This role involves consulting databases and historical records to compare costs from similar projects and providing expert guidance to leadership, peers, and junior team members.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Mark III Construction's estimating systems, including ACCUBID and all proprietary software, manuals, and forms.
- Thoroughly review proposal specifications and drawings; attend and lead pre-bid meetings to determine the project scope and estimate requirements, including conceptual estimating, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and compliance.
- Develop and deliver detailed, accurate, and timely estimates representing the project’s electrical systems, associated costs, general conditions, overhead, and profit.
- Perform quantity take-offs for electrical materials for plan/spec and design-build projects.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and verify specification compliance.
- Maintain organized files of working bid documents, notes, and assumptions for project estimates.
- Create electrical system layouts as needed to provide a complete system for estimating purposes, especially when project documents are incomplete.
- Define and adjust productivity requirements for unique project conditions, ensuring the estimate reflects realistic conditions.
- Develop conceptual budget estimates from system narratives or sketches.
- Mentor and lead junior personnel, fostering their professional growth.
- Design electrical service systems for projects, including pre-construction services, and manage the design process from conception to approved permits.
- Prepare and manage design requirements for electrical systems on design/build projects to support design/build estimates.
- Assist operations teams with tasks such as change order preparation and other duties as requested.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability in performing the estimating process support for plan/spec, design assist and design build delivery methods.
- Expert Level knowledge in structuring the estimate and set up models to support the unique project RFP language defining costs components.
- Subject matter level abilities to read architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm and mechanical plans and be familiar with a variety of Electrical systems and terminology.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products and computer trends/technology.
- Strong mathematical skills and above average skills with Bluebeam software package.
- Proven ability to be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Demonstrable strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to effectively interact with engineers, vendors, customers, field personnel, sales, and office staff.
- Excellent and proven verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and people skills.
- Demonstrated elevated level of self-motivation and urgency in timely completion of assignments.

Education and Experience:
- Five years of experience in Electrical estimating on Commercial/Industrial/E-Commerce & Higher Education projects.
- Specific knowledge and experience with Estimating Software systems is required. Specific experience with Accubid software is a mandatory requirement; at least 5 years is required.
- Five years of related mechanical/HVAC estimating interface experience.
- Previous experience as an electrical trainee, apprentice, journeyman is preferred.
- Knowledge of the N.E.C. and local electrical codes.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years in an electrical Design/Build Department is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Attend construction site walks, climb ladders, walk on roofs.

Salary Range: $140,000 to $180,000 DOE
