Description : The Store Manager is responsible for overall team and store performance. They lead with integrity and humility and are committed to consistently growing themselves and the store. They communicate changes, goals, and updates to their team. They set an example for the team in character, passion for ministry, customer service, as well as big and small tasks on the floor. They communicate regularly with the Director and act with the highest level of trust and confidentiality.
Duties and Expectations :
-Uphold and lead in ministry beliefs
-Must be able to regularly open and close, work weekends, and pick up shifts as needed
-Lead by setting an example in all performance categories - customer service, production, teamwork, and cleanliness.
-Goes above and beyond to thank and help donors, encourages team members to do the same
-Maintain a clean and organized store with the help of the whole team
-Regularly monitor money transactions: opening & closing register, change orders, accuracy with register transactions, returns, etc.
-Oversee “paperwork” at store: maintain high quality master copies of all documents, make copies, supply requests, and more.
-Handling customer and/or team questions, feedback, disagreements and/or shoplifting; and knowing when to involve the Director in more serious situations.
-Store Manager is responsible for new hire on-boarding for their store location.
-Ensure team is following expectations laid out in handbook.
-Ensure the team is following daily processes with accuracy and honesty.
-Overseeing tasks assigned to the team. Delegating tasks daily to team members through team huddles, written lists and/or verbal communication.
-Hold team accountable for hitting production goals on carts, racks, and transfer. Report to directors if team/individuals are consistently not meeting their goals.
-Regularly inspect work after completed by team members
-Welcome volunteers and community service team members. It is important these individuals feel welcomed and appreciated at Hope’s Outlet!
-Open, transparent communication about how the store and team are doing to Director.
-Help improve processes and procedures, be a forward thinker.
-Host interviews, create and extend offers to candidates
-Receiving end of night reports and following up as needed
-Scheduling. Calling in coverage day-of if someone is sick or not able to come into work.
-Floor arrangements / moving displays / seasonal shifts
-Plan and encourage team building – birthdays, team parties – with help from shift lead.
-Performance improvement conversations and terminations (approved by Director).

-Proven experience as a store manager
-Strong organizational skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
