Reports to: Upper School Director
Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking a Choreographer for the Winter Musical from December 2, 2024 - March 6, 2025 (with a break from December 11th through January 6th). Primary responsibilities include generation of choreography based on the Director’s vision and dance instruction of musical numbers for a cast size of 25 to 35, many of whom do not have dance training or experience. The Choreographer should have experience working with students ranging from 14 to 18 years old at a variety of skill levels in educational stage facilities. The Choreographer will work alongside the Director, Music Director, and other faculty members involved in the production. Rehearsals take place Monday through Friday after school (typically 3:30 to 5 p.m. M, T, Th, F, and 1:45 to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays), some Saturday mornings (typically 4 Saturdays dates TBD 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.), and a technical rehearsal on March 1 from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience working in Musical Theater and ideally in an educational environment. The candidate is expected to have worked with students and have an understanding of the unique developmental stages of high school students. The ideal candidate is expected to have strong performing and dance experience, a willingness to work with students of all physical abilities, and with a strong understanding of Ensemble led theater work.

Compensation: A stipend of $3,400.00.
