  The desert’s newest upscale Resort & Spa is seeking talented guest services specialists.  

 AZURE PALM HOT SPRINGS is an exciting and unique resort oasis located in the Miracle Hill area of Desert Hot Springs, California, located in the Greater Palm Springs area. We offer 40 guest accommodations, a full service spa, the largest mineral water pool in So Cal, a healthy café and…a natural hot spring oasis! 

 This is a special property and we are looking for talented hospitality professionals to provide exceptional service to our guests who come to rejuvenate their mind, body and soul. The ideal candidates will naturally love helping people and thrive on learning. If you have spa/resort experience, great! If you don’t but wish to gain experience in the hospitality industry, we will teach you.

Job Type: Full-time

Availability: Weekends and holidays are a must. Open availability and flexibility desired.

Shift:  Seeking mid and evening shifts from as early as 12:00pm to as late as 12:30am. However, shifts may vary depending on business needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Pool/Locker room Attendant is responsible for:

  • Maintaining a welcome, relaxing, clean and safe environment for our guests. Must speak fluent English as there is a lot of guest interaction.
  • Ensure all lockers are stocked with the appropriate robe and slipper and locker combinations are correct and ready for guest use
  • Ensure all ice water stations are always full
  • Collect, wash, dry, and fold all towels as needed daily
  • Keep tubs in oasis clean (clean weekly)
  • Ensure river in oasis is clean as well as the reflexology path (check for dirt or debris)
  • Wash and dry cups as needed throughout day
  • Ensure all windows are clean
  • Ensure locker rooms and restrooms are fully stocked and ready for guest use (replenish as necessary)
  • Ensure both indoor and outdoor saunas are working properly and ready for guest use daily
  • Know how to properly use the ADA lift chairs for pool/spas and ensure the batteries are charged daily
  • Having daily communication with front desk is essential for creating legendary guest experiences
  • Ensure tubs are always the correct temperature by utilizing the tub temp log
  • Ensure all lounge chairs and stumps are clean and in their correct places
  • Check pool and indoor spa area every 30 minutes, even if tasks are completed being present in these areas is vital to creating legendary guest experiences
  • Communicate effectively with management, co-workers, and staff members in other departments in a friendly and professional manner. Create and maintain positive relationships with all other departments and know how they relate to the oasis department.
  • Be aware of and adhere to the policies and regulations of the resort and the Oasis department. Be knowledgeable about the hotel emergency procedures. Report suspicious activity to the appropriate manager.
  • Follow the assigned checklists and complete other daily tasks. Projects and tasks not on the checklist may be assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Key Competencies

  • At least 18 year of age
  • Must be able to speak fluent English
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a customer service forward facing environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the hotel hospitality industry
  • Ability to kindly approach and interact with guests on a regular basis
  • Must be reliable, dependable, consistent and does not have attendance issues
  • Self-starter, self-motivated and takes the initiative to complete tasks, does not require constant supervision and direction.
  • Ability to work effectively with other department employees and guest
  • Above average multi-tasking skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make decisions and problem solve
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in write
  • Ability to learn and use new software and tools

Education

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
